VAPING TIPS

Hi and welcome to the wonderful world of vaping. We have compiled some tips on vaping to hopefully make your transition to vaping more smooth and help you along the way. Don't worry if you think there's a lot to it, there really isn't, it just takes a small bit of getting used to and you will be enjoying your vape in no time.

This list isn't comprehensive but just some information that we think may help you. It is important that you always read the instruction manual that comes with your particular device for full information.

Tips for setting up/changing a coil in Tank.

  • Always make sure a new coil is screwed in completely tight before use. With some tanks you have to push in the coil instead of screw in and in that case just make sure its pushed in fully.

  • The coil or atomiser usually has organic cotton inside in it and this cotton need to be soaked properly before using your e-cigarette. In most cases it is beneficial to put 5 to 10 drops of eliquid into the coil depending on the size of the coil before first use as this helps eliquid to soak into the cotton better. If a new coil is used when the cotton in the coil is anyway dry the coil can get burnt or not last as long.

  • When setting up a new coil you should also let the e-liquid soak into the coil for around ten minutes or longer before vaping it.

  • It can also be benificial to take a few drags without pushing the power button before using as this helps to bring the eliquid into the coil to make sure the cotton is fully soaked.

  • When first using a new coil always start on the lowest power and go slowly up to desired or recommended power when you are sure the coil is soaked fully, in other word break it in gently.

Battery Safety & Maintenance Tips

  • When you purchase a new Mod or batteries always charge fully before first use, it shouldnt take too long as they are usually factory charged to about 70% but it is important to charge them fully before use.

  • When inserting the battery charger into the ecigarette make sure to take it nice and easy and not be too rough with it.

  • Always make sure your charger lead is kept in a safe place so as not to get the fitting that goes into your ecig damaged on charger lead as if this gets damaged it can damage your ecig battery when you insert it in.

  • When you are putting your ecigarette in you pocket ot handbag don't forget to turn it off, this usually fairly easy to do with a series of clicks depending on model.

  • Read the instruction manual that comes with your ecigarette as this will help you get familiar with safety aspects as well as help you familiarise yourself with your particular device.

  • Youtube can also be very helpful in learning about your device, just type in your kit or tank name and your sure to find somebody giving a review or explanation on the workings of particular devices.

  • Never put loose 18650 batteries or similar type batteries in pockets or bags when not in use. Get yourself some cheap plastic battery cases instead, as unprotected batteries might short circuit when they come in contact with metal objects. This may cause your battery to vent and potentially explode.

  • Always make sure that the wraps of your 18650 batteries or similar are in pristine condition. If you notice a nick on the battery wrap, the safest thing to do is to re-wrap it or contact us and we should be able to help and advise you.

  • Some batteries are better for low wattage vaping, others are better for sub-ohming, and others are not supposed to be used for vaping at all. When picking batteries for your mod, make sure that they come in the appropriate specs and if your not sure what one is right for your device contact us and we should be able to help you.

  • Counterfeit batteries are unfortunately a thing. Always buy batteries from reputable vendors, as those will go out of their way to make sure their batteries are originals as we do here at the Vape Gallery.

  • Don't leave charging batteries unattended even when using a charger, having your batteries charging unattended is never a good idea, especially overnight. Although very rare, battery chargers are electronic devices and failures are not unheard of. Always keep an eye on your charging batteries and place them in battery cases when you are not around.

  • Charging your 18650 batteries or similar type directly in your mod is possible with most devices nowadays, but it’s always safer to use a dedicated battery charger. This can also mean you wont be waiting on batteries to charge when they run out as you can have a spare set or 2 ready to go.

  • Avoid extreme temperatures. Vape batteries can tolerate low and high temperatures, but you wouldn’t want to test their limits. Higher temperatures will strain your batteries, making them age faster (or even vent), while colder temperatures take a toll on battery capacity. Make sure you store them in a cool place away from sunlight and never ever leave them stored in places like a car on a hot day or in direct sunlight where temperatures might even exceed their safety range.

  • If you are using a mod that takes more than one battery, always use the exact same batteries (for example, a pair of Aspire 18650s and keep them married, i.e. use them in pairs and always together as it’s a safe practice. This will ensure that the cells get the same number of charges/discharges and help delay imbalances in capacity and performance.

  • Replace old batteries as batteries are only good up to a certain amount of cycles (full charge to full discharge). Lithium-ion batteries will start losing capacity and strength when used extensively for longer periods of time. If you sense that your battery takes less time to discharge, just replace it. Even if you haven’t noticed something out of the ordinary, replace your batteries after six months to a year, depending on how often you use them.
  • Always use the correct wall plug adapter if you are charging through a wall socket. Contact us if your not sure which is correct one to use.

 General Vaping Tips

  • Try not to chain vape your e-cigarette so that the coil can re-soak with eliquid, if you vape too many drags fast especially on higher power the coil might get burnt if the cotton goes too dry.

  • Keep your vaping kit clean and avoid getting it wet. A gentle rub with a bit of tissue on the 510 connection of battery a couple of times a week or more will help keep it dry and clean.

  • Clean your mouthpiece daily by putting a tissue through it and wiping it well. It can also be beneficial to insert a rolled up tissue down though the area where the mouthpiece goes in as keeping this area dry helps to stop any gurgling or eliquid travelling up through the mouthpiece.

  • While it is important to close the bottom and top part of tanks fully do not to overtighten your tank onto your battery, just tight enough is fine.

  • Read your instruction manual for all safety information and if your not sure of anything contact us and we will do our best to help you.

  • Enjoy it and relax, try take slow long drags as this helps to feel more satisfied. Don't drag too hard theres no need to. Dragging too hard can flood the coil.

Kind Regards
